Our Mission: The mission of Big Horn Ranch is to turn the clock back a couple hundred years to produce quality forage fed meats using nature based soil nutrients, sunshine and the animal's natural grazing habits to turn these quality forages into healthy and nutritious meats.
CSA: By joining our CSA you are voting with your dollar! You are voting to grow animals on the green grass in fresh air and sunshine. You are voting for happy animals, happy farm families, healthy meals and a healthy Earth.
In this relationship between consumer and farm, the consumer purchases a share of the current years livestock, becoming a shareholder of the herd. As a shareholder, the consumer secures a share of the farms annual meat production. You are not purchasing retail cuts of meat, instead you are buying shares of our meat animals on pasture and contracting us to grow them for you on our local, family farm in Pittsfield, Pa.
Our CSA subscriptions give you the opportunity to receive assorted cuts of beef and/or pork every single month for 6 months. Poultry and lamb are available seasonally to our current customers.
Your CSA will arrive individually packaged, frozen and USDA inspected. All beef, poultry and lamb are ADDITIVE FREE. Currently, popular pork products like bacon, ham and kielbasa contain minimal additives. Your meat will come direct from our fields to the butcher and then delivered to you.
Big Horn Ranch Delivery Area: Pittsfield, Warren, Erie, Jamestown,NY, Pittsburgh, Zelienople, Bridgeville. Any location within a 10 mile radius of Pittsburgh. We also deliver to any location within a 10 mile radius of I-79 between Grove City and Pittsburgh.
Trial Herd Share: Any new customer may order a Trial Herd Share (WHEN EXTRA SHARES ARE AVAILABLE). Trial Herd Shares have no contract obligation.
Retail Buyers Club: Our Retail Buyers Club delivers convenience and variety. Pick and choose only cuts you prefer. Members of our CSA Program have an automatic membership in our Retail Buyers Club. So if you want to add a pound of bacon to your monthly CSA go ahead!

This directory of farms, farmers' markets, CSAs, etc. will also contain local food tips, hacks & know-how from farms, food businesses, and food resource organizations.
We help consumers connect to tools and resources to know how and where to access local, real, healthy food year-round.
