This award is for college students who pursue a post-secondary education in arts, including,
but not limited to: digital art, graphic design, fine arts, music, musical performance,
drama/theatre, culinary arts, dance, cinematography and film, interactive media design,
drawing, integrative arts, visual arts, photography, or a similar field of study. Applicants
should identify as Black or African American, Indigenous, or as a Person of Color, or as in
financial need.

Candidate Requirements:

Preparing to pursue an undergraduate degree with an eligible major
Exhibit exemplary artistic passion and skills
Be a qualified Black and/or BIPOC student or show financial need
Reside in Western Pennsylvania (Allegheny, Beaver, Westmoreland, Butler, Washington County)

Application Requirements:

A completed online application submitted by Dec. 30, 2021

Personal Statement/Essay:

300 – 500 words personal statement/essay: Think about how to combine art and business. How can
you make money AND make art?

Portfolio Upload:

Please upload three (3) art pieces or a 3 minute audio/visual performance clip. For culinary art
students, include ingredients lists and images of 3-5 completed dishes/items.

Award:

Five (5) $1000 awards total to be given out throughout 2021- 2022
