Place your online order here. Still no veggies this week – but the seeds are starting to arrive! There’s a fresh batch of arugula planted in the high tunnels, and we just have to ride out this storm, and I think that the greens will pick up again soon! More items will be added to the store when our next batch of pork comes back from the butcher in early February. Chickens are starting to lay! We have a few dozen EGGS! SOME NOTES: 1) We’re switching the pick up time in the Northside on Wednesday to 3:30. 2) Please make a note of where you’re picking up in the Order Notes section. Just to be doubly sure that I’m getting your orders to the right location. The Farm Pick up: Wednesdays 11 – 1 or 5 – 7pm (text if you’re not going to make it on time, no worries) The City : WEDNESDAY PICKUP Northside Union Pl /E. Ohio (Wednesday 3:30 pm)    And now for some gratuitous puppy pictures. August has been a total joy and added some brightness and levity to the dark days of winter. Having a 3 year old dog (Alice) and a puppy, at the same time, is a great combo. Alice is energetic and patient and knows and teaches the farm boundaries – from how far to roam, where to sniff, what to pee on, and who to chase (not the chickens!). She puts up with his playful romps and nips and deals out the body slams and tempered rough housing when necessary. August still is not making it through the night without a few potty breaks, so there are sleepless nights, but this too shall pass. We all must be wary of leaving shoes laying around and are extra careful to keep toys and other non-puppy-friendly items out of reach. Kind of like having an 18 month of toddler running around. Keeps us on our toes!  Happy Birthday to Herman (the black pot-bellied pig over by the Greenhouse). He turned 9 years old this weekend. His owner, Michelle, even brought him some birthday cake to celebrate!  Next week, we’ll get this guy back in the saddle and post some Pig-wifery updates. The barnyard is moving along, as it should be, and we’re waiting on a first-time-farrowing-sow to get on with it and have her babies!  |
