CRAFT Event: Changing Agricultural Practices, Changing Agricultural Policy

Changing Agricultural Practices,
Changing Agricultural Policy
Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training [CRAFT]

Wednesday, May 23rd
4:30 – 7:30pm

Rodale Institute
611 Siegfriedale Road
Kutztown, PA [Burks County]

During this two-part workshop, you’ll tour the Rodale Institute’s organic vegetable operation and learn how to influence agricultural policy with the Young Farmers Coalition of Southeastern PA.

For decades, the Rodale Institute has been experimenting with both traditional and innovative farming practices, developing modern agricultural techniques that can increase yields as well as farm fertility. You’ll learn about Rodale’s tillage methods, cultivation techniques, crop rotations, and organic no-till vegetable system.

Afterward, over refreshments, representatives from the Young Farmers Coalition of Southeastern PA—a chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition—will explain how to get involved with agricultural policy and effect political change using grassroots organizing principles during a year in which the next Farm Bill is up for debate.

This event is free for both PASA members and non-members.
