It’s almost February and you deserve a pizza party. And not just any pizza party, but one that serves up the most enticing of slice while assisting one of the most fruitful institutions in town, Grow Pittsburgh.
We think of winter, especially as gardeners, as a dormant season. It’s cold, it’s icy, it’s frequently gray, the ground is hard and frozen. And as with gardening, it can be the same with gardening organizations, going a little quiet when muffled by snow. But while much may not spring from the soil, there’s plenty of activity beneath the surface. Many use this time to plan, organize, structure, and raise funds, and Grow Pittsburgh is no exception. On Tuesday, February 4th, they’ll cross the last item off that list with a dinner at Alta Via Pizzeria in Bakery Square.
Beginning at 6 pm, guests will enjoy appetizers, pizza, dessert and wine, with vegetarian and vegan options available, in one of Pittsburgh’s premiere casual restaurants while benefiting the invaluable work Grow Pittsburgh does in our community- whether your thumbs have long been green or your hands are about to dig in the dirt for the first time, they’ve got the goods for you. They teach groups, individuals, and school students, maintain their own farm sites to feed the community, build gardens, and more, and support through fundraising events like this one is essential in the implementation of their work.
This will be a festive evening, and also an intimate one. Ticketing is limited to a total of 40 patrons, and will sell out quickly, so don’t hibernate- get yours here today!
