City Nature Challenge – March 28, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Help your students contribute to a global community science project! This workshop will explore the surprising biodiversity of urban habitats and introduce techniques for recording and analyzing nature observations. Use the iNaturalist app to contribute data to crowdsourced science efforts, sketch with pencil and paper, and explore classroom activities to help your students join in a global effort to collect observations for science in the City Nature Challenge.

Get connected with nature! Get ready for the 2023 City Nature Challenge, April 28 through May 1. By exploring nature, taking photos, and uploading them to the free iNaturalist app, you and your students can help contribute to scientific research, learn about local species, and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors.

New Exhibition: Apsáalooke Women and Warriors (Now through May 29, 2023)
The Apsáalooke [ap-SAH-loo-gah] people of the Northern Plains are known for their bravery, artistry, and extravagance. Apsáalooke Women and Warriors, created and curated by the Field Museum, celebrates the Apsáalooke people’s daring feats in battle, unparalleled horsemanship, and innovative beadwork—all centered around and protected by women. Alongside historical war shields and regalia, contemporary Native American art highlights how this bravery and artistry is alive today. See the exhibition during your visit for no additional cost. (Apsáalooke Women and Warriors is jointly organized by the Field Museum and the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society at the University of Chicago.)

Teen Night: Artistry in Space – March 16, 2023, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
All teens are welcome to Carnegie Museum of Natural History for a fun night focused on art techniques found in natural history and science. Explore how we can use art in our everyday lives, watch a scientific illustration demo, and sketch in the galleries. Participate in a diorama-making activity and enjoy food during this evening event just for teens.
