PA Women’s Ag Network: Land Access in Western PA

From our friends at PA Women’s Ag Network:

Access to land is one of the biggest barriers preventing farmers from starting and growing their businesses. In this workshop series, we will learn about land access options specific to western PA, and we will review key components of a land assessment, identifying tools, resources, and contacts for conducting an evaluation. We will also cover land use policy and community factors specific to a site, as well as the relationship between property features and conservation, business, and personal goals.

Presenting organizations include:

  • Western Pennsylvania Conservancy
  • National Young Farmers Coalition
  • Hilltop Urban Farm
  • City of Pittsburgh Adopt-a-lot Program
  • Kiva Microfunds
  • Cutting Root Farm & Apothecary
  • Penn State Extension
