Pittsburgh Food Entrepreneurs – Parts Ignored By Parts Unknown

Pittsburgh Food Entrepreneurs – Parts Ignored By Parts Unknown

Before the New York Times and other publications highlighted the connection between Pittsburgh’s food scene and the city’s entrepreneurial growth, the Forum spotlighted the region’s entrepreneurial food and beverage scene. And, with much fanfare, Anthony Bourdaine, came to town for his show “Parts Unknown.” Many thought the show dwelled too much on the kielbasa/pierogi past, rather than focusing on more of the region’s exciting developments.

Our event on December 7th, brings together a panel to discuss the “Parts Ignored by Parts Unknown.” The panel, with Jamilka Borges (Spoon), Josephine Oria (La Dorita), Jen England (412 Food Rescue), & Gary Matson (The Oven Pizza Co.) with moderator Jeff Rose (Localpittsburgh) and others will explore the current entrepreneurial scene as well as issues facing this burgeoning industry – an industry that supports the vibrant growth in other sectors, as well as being entrepreneurial itself in finding new opportunities and solutions to long-standing problems.
