The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is a federal law which establishes minimum wage, overtime pay eligibility, recordkeeping, and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers in the private sector and in federal, state, and local governments.
The session will provide a review of the Fair Labor Standards Act, with a focus on minimum wage, overtime, recordkeeping, and child labor regulations as they pertain to the food processing industry. Additional topics include misclassification of workers, retaliation, and common issues regarding hours worked, bonuses, and deductions.
