The Coyne family started with show animals. Emily, their eldest daughter, began with lambs for 4-H exhibition, later moving on to include cattle, hogs, and goats. Then the whole family joined in, participating in Future Farmers of America as well, garnering the highest awards possible. 

Then Michael, who heads the household while doing double duty as manager of the farm, made the decision to change direction. The attention shifted to producing beef, pork and chicken, and doing so with the intention of reaching the same heights they had with show animals- creating the highest quality possible.

Now, with over twenty years under their belts, the Coyne Family Farm is a three-generation enterprise, and their dedication to meeting a superior standard continues. The focus is on shorthorn beef, with pork and poultry products additionally available.  All is generated without medication and free of hormones and utilizing the best feed available, with all animals raised with a commitment to ethical treatment and top-notch care.

They currently offer home delivery within designated areas, with online ordering through their website. They’re also regulars at multiple farmers markets throughout the season, including Brookline, Mount Lebanon, and Sewickley.
