If you are in the market to lease out farm land to keep land in agricultural production or if you are looking to lease land from a farmer for agricultural production, you will want to register for this PA Farm Link sponsored program.

The Farmland Leasing & Land Opportunities workshop is being offered to help farmers better understand the leasing options available to help make their farm successful. PA Farm Link is sponsoring the program with support from Pennsylvania Women’s Agricultural Network (PA-WAgN) and the Butler County FSA office. Farm landowners in Butler and all neighboring counties are encouraged to attend this educational program. Folks looking to lease land from farm owners may also want to attend to gain a better working knowledge of leasing documents.

Speakers for the program:

  • Mr. Sean High from Penn State’s Agriculture & Shale Law Center will provide an IN DEPTH legal perspective of farm leasing;
  • Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Jane Menchyk and Ann Sand, Land Protection Managers;
    PA Farm Link representative; and
  • A farmer panel to share experiences leasing farmland and answer questions.

Each person who attends will receive a copy of “Drafting Agricultural Leases and Related Considerations”, an 84-page document created by PSU Agriculture & Shale Law Center.

Registration is $10 and the registration deadline is November 27th.
