Who we are......  by Kandi

For many years It was my desire to have a coffee roasting business, in the Ligonier Valley of Southwestern Pennsylvania. In 2010, I discovered a transportable roaster and knew that “now was the time”. My partner, Dave was crazy enough to agree to, what we now call, the "bean brain idea" and so it began in June of 2010.

We ordered the roaster, made with all U.S.A. parts, from a small company out west. We travelled nine days round trip to bring our roaster home (and almost Cody too, who got stuck in the van loading it in). Our trip was quite the adventure, as the business is proving to be too.

Our original intention was to offer fresh roasted coffee beans. They had to be the finest quality plus eco-friendly and ethically grown. We have the perfect broker to assure we have just that!

Of course, as time passed, we've had fun creating new products using our coffee along with other items too!  (Dry Meat Rubs, Coffee & Sugar Scrubs, Mocha Facial Scrubs +)

We hope you enjoy our coffee and other offerings!!

LOCATION: For now, we're a home based business and in search of  the best location.

Our coffee beans are SINGLE ORIGIN, the HIGHEST GRADE only, certified and non-certified ORGANIC, SUSTAINABLY and HIGH ALTITUDE GROWN. Some are SHADE GROWN, RAIN FOREST ALLIANCE certified, BIRD FRIENDLY and there's always the "feel good" stories to tell. :-)
We roast each type of bean to the point that brings out the best characteristics and taste possible plus MICRO-ROAST our beans in six pound batches for more consistency. Most others roast one hundred pounds or more at a time. Yes it takes a bit longer for poor Dave but we think our top quality beans are worth it! In fact we pay attention to all the details. We also use the highest rated, triple barrier bags heat sealing them to protect the freshness until you cut it open.
We want you to realize our coffee is not artificially flavored! Coffee beans are a lot like wine. The soil, climate, growing season along with the type of roast imparts "flavors" to the beans. Also, like wine, you may or may not taste the nuances described yet simply know that you like it.
