White Dog Farm is a small 26 acre, family farm in Washington County PA where we are commited to practicing sustainable farming methods and humane animal care.
Our main farm product is 100% grass fed Icelandic and St. Croix lamb. Why? That’s easy… because it is the best tasting lamb that you will ever eat! Our sheep spend their entire lives on pasture and lambs are allowed to remain with the ewes until natural weaning occurs. Lambs go to the butcher at around 6-7 months old-directly off of the pastures that they were born on.
We also have limited quantities of pastured Berkshire pork and raw dairy shares from our 100% grass fed Jersey cow(s). Like our sheep and unlike commercial dairies, our calves are kept with their mothers and allowed to nurse while we milk share with the calves. The cows are both hand and machine milked, and our milk only touches stainless steel and glass for the best flavor. Those jerseys are know for their cream, and we use it to make butter, ice cream and cheese, as well as yogurt.
